My Fellow Explorers (said with a heavy Nixon-like accent) … I bring you today the latest update from the world of me.

(screech!)

Damn that sounds egotistical! I really don’t know how to start these things. The world of … the channel? I need to find a better name. Anyway! Here’s your Saturday update of the week that was. And as always, thank you for your support … it means more than you can possibly know.

Last Saturday I released the video ‘DO NOT MAKE a YouTube Video THIS WAY!’ on the CREATORS JOURNEY channel. It’s basically a regurgitation of an error I just kept compounding. (Damn, that’s the word I was forgetting when I filmed it! COMPOUNDING! Perfect … and I never uttered it, sheesh). Anyway, a short little ditty about something I hope I can remember to stop doing.

DO NOT MAKE a YouTube Video THIS WAY!

Oh, and I bought something special for myself. Let’s see if you notice it. I purchased some new transitions I can place between clips. “What the hell is that”, you ask? When you move between two clips in a video, you can style the way that happens. Maybe one cross-fades into the other. Or you dip to black and when you “un-dip”, the next clip is what you see. These new transitions are called “Glitch” and are kinda whacky. Anyhoo, I’m kinda digging them. I want to start putting more energy into my videos and I think these will help. (Hey! You signed up for behind the scenes stuff, and this is about as behind as you can get! You wanna hear about my latest lens too? LOL!)

So, you wanna see the transitions in action? Check out ‘Remote Worker vs DIGITAL NOMAD – Can You Make The Jump?’ which was released on Monday morning. 🙂 The video is about … oh hell, here’s the official description:

Is it Remote Worker or Digital Nomad? The only truth to either concept is that your boss probably hates it either way. But what exactly does each title mean? And should you even care?

TL;DR – Don’t hold me to this because I’m not Miriam-Webster, but remote work is basically working from home. Or the coffee shop. Maybe in a hotel. In either case, you’re basically in the same city and state as the office and you’re just avoiding the commute. And having to put on clean pants. Or at the very extreme, you’re only a few hours distant from the mother ship. I’ve been doing this very thing for the past fourteen … yes, 14! … years. Me in Miami and the client/employer in New York. And it’s been great being a Remote Worker.

I know it’s not of critical importance to patrons, but my second YouTube channel is quite important to me. I released a second “A CREATORS JOURNEY” video this week about “Shorts”. These are YouTube’s answer to TikTok. 60 second or less videos. According to those who preach to us small “who are you again?” channels … shorts are the greatest thing since sliced bagels. So I had to create a response. 🙂

Are YouTube Shorts THE ANSWER To Growth? (Spoiler Alert: Meh)

Blog posts?

Yep, starting with Can I Guess The Before (The After)? As I was making coffee last Sunday AM, I started wondering what life would be like in my future “Post Pivot” world. Could I channel my inner Jeanne Dixon and prognosticate the future? Only time will tell, I suppose.

Annnnd … Do I HATE AMERICA? Why Travel and LOOK ELSEWHERE? A short treatise on expanding your world view. It’s been toying with this one for ages, trying to find ways of making it a video. I just couldn’t find the right story. So I guess you’ll just have to read it instead.  🙂

Annnnd-squared … Aren’t You Going to MISS MIAMI? followed the day after. A follow up story on my ‘why’ of doing this in the first place.

And that’s a wrap folks. The week that was. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
