I received an email last night from a viewer who was asking me how he could watch my Camino Series from start to finish. I answered, thanked him, and went to bed. But sometime during the night he responded with something that blew me away.
Apparently during an early Camino video I stated that I was making the series for those who could not make the journey themselves. Now honestly, I was thinking purely in terms of time and money. But what he wrote … I’ll paraphrase:
His wife is disabled and he has Cerebral Palsy. They literally cannot make the journey themselves. And suddenly it hit me … I’m not just out here experimenting with life and sharing it for funsies. I’m touching people who don’t have the same luxuries and abilities as I do.
Yea, I know. This should have been a simple and already thought-out thought. And maybe on some level it was.
But now I’m actually feeling even better about that trip. And about everything else I’m doing. The reasons folks watch is far more varied than I imagined. And I’m proud and happy that I can help make people feel what I’m feeling and give them my sense of the wonder of this world.
Thank you my friend. I may have given you an experience, but you have given me a greater one in return.
