Here, we see the mature North American Male in his natural habitat — the aftermath of his own overconfidence.
Having spotted a small, seemingly harmless aircraft, the male instinctively decided that decades of watching action movies had prepared him for the challenge of landing it.
Moments later, his theory met reality at approximately 120 knots.
Yet, observe the posture. The walk. The sunglasses. Despite the smoking ruin behind him, he appears entirely unshaken — even proud.
This is a defense mechanism known as Post-Crash Confidence, a rare trait that allows him to reinterpret catastrophic failure as “a learning experience.”
And as the wreckage cools, he will likely turn to the nearest bystander and say,
“See? Told you I could land it.”
Nature, as always, finds a way.
