So there actually is a real back story to this one.

I was driving somewher ethe other day, thinking of Jon Stewart and The Daily Show. Specifically about his bit against Arby’s. I never really understood why he poked at them so much, I kinda like the food. But it was a bit just as recurring and funny as how deep dish pizza ain’t pizza (which I 1000% agree with! LOL!).

Anyway … I have a show based on an “Older Genrations” organization, so who would be my “Arby’s:? Well … it has to be AARP, right?

Now I knew very little about the group, only that I never wanted to flash an AARP card anywhere lest people thought I was old. But I went to their website and … the trumpets and heralds sang! Not all of what I found, but enough was so over the top horrible that I knew it!

I HAD MY ARBY’S!!!

Now there is some decent stuff there, but it’s so … retro Americana that it’s hard to swallow anything. It’s like reading a 1950s copy of Parade Magazine or something. SO many articles aimed at the over 90 crowd. The “R” in AARP is retired … and here they were pretending that it meant retired underground.

So yea, I decided to poke the bear. Entertainingly mock my own Arby’s. In the end of Jon’s run on The Daily Show, ARby’s actually ran a fun commercial letting folks know they got the joke, and they joked back quite well. So who knows …. maybe AARP will sponsor me one day. LOL!

Of course, I won’t ever flash my card in public still. You’ll understand when you watch the video.
