Good morning my beautiful friends (damn I’m perky today).  Welcome from Barcelona Spain!  Yes, I finally made it back!  Woot!

For those not in the know, this is perhaps my most favorite city of all time.  I stayed for three months back in 2017 and again for another three months in 2019.  I had a residency visa in hand to actually move here in 2020 but … well you know what happened in 2020.  🙁

And now I’m back, if only for a month.

(Sagrada Familia)

Why just a month?  Because tourist visas are only good here for three months and there is a lot more of Europe we want to see as well.  Nothing is set in concrete, but here is a possible schedule of places that are on the immediate drawing board:

  • Barcelona for one month (booked!)

  • Wandering Spain aimlessly for another month, following the coast until we wind up in Galicia where we’re going to walk the Camino for a bit

  • Three weeks on the island of Madeira, just off of Portugal

  • And then … 😊… either the UK or perhaps a volunteer mission near Ukraine.

(Playing with a fisheye lens on a rainy night in 2019)

I usually don’t succumb to jet lag all that much, but whoa!  This time it was bad.  Barcelona is just six hours different from Miami, but I didn’t sleep one wink on the plane ride over.  (7.5 hour flight, a layover in Lisbon, then two more hours flight time).  We were completely whacked out when we arrived around “Local Noon”, whatever the hell time our bodies thought that was.  We tried to get right on local time by staying up … but then we couldn’t sleep, despite not having done so for almost 36 hours.  Honestly, I’m still feeling it, but it gets better by about an hour each day.  Almost there!

More next Saturday, and again THANK YOU for your support!
