So I woke up this morning to the same news as everyone else, the direction that the United States of America has decided to take for the foreseeable future. All three pillars of government under a single ultra conservative political party and vision, moving in unison towards a goal.

And I had thoughts.

Let me start this with the absolute statement that I will never use this channel or brand as a political platform, nor will I ever allow it to become one. Everyone has an opinion and a choice and I have to respect them, just as I expect others to respect my rights to my own.

But having said that …

This channel and all that I create centers about people. Humans. ALL humans. There is a line at the bottom of my website that reads “Mastering The Second Half LLC actively supports all communities and strives to bring humanity together through discussion, acceptance, and love. We have a zero tolerance policy towards hate, bigotry, and racism.” and I will always live up to that statement.

I want to post this to ensue that my message is clear. I will not tolerate hate, racism, bigotry, or any other forms of anti-human activity, be it verbal, written, or physical. There is no room in my world for that and I won’t hesitate to ban anyone who tries to bring it here.

About The Future Of The Channel

The one mantra that every YouTube creator hears over and over is “show, don’t tell”. Paint a picture in imagery and the audience will understand it better. And that’s what I am going to continue doing, perhaps with an even more dedicated passion.

It is no surprise that I refuse to live in a sea of division where groups are pitted against each other, one being the enemy and the other the saviors. Where dictators thrive, corporations rule, and large populations are actively oppressed. I simply will not do it.

But the people have spoken loud and clear that the United States is to be such a place, so as the Dude would say “I will not abide”.

I am already living an unconventional, nomadic life. I treat borders as vague dotted lines between the cultures that I want to explore and learn from. And that will most certainly continue. Even more so. But it will now also be with the goal of protecting myself and those around me from the chaos that I expect to occur for the next decade or so.

It feels … inevitable now.

So, if you follow me for entertainment and glimpses into the great, wild world … rest assured that nothing is going to change. The same “let’s look into an unconventional life lived differently” theme will continue unabated. The Huckleberry will ride again and slow travel will resume.

But if you also follow me for tips and tricks, please watch closely because it’s going to be more than just hijinks and miles under the wheels from here on forward. I need to learn how to exist in this new nationalistic world with sanity and safety. I need to learn more about how humans work so I can make the best decisions possible for my future. And while I won’t be preaching, I will be showing how I do it and what I learn.

Having said all of that, I do have one request … please start loving each other more. It’s going to become so normal and easy to do the opposite. We’re going to be surrounded by division and hatred, and our only way out is through love and acceptance. This storm will one day pass and we’re all going to have to look at ourselves in the mirror and respect who we see.

I will not give into the hate, and I implore you to do the same.

So yes, my journey now has an additional mission. Where once it was simply being able to afford the second half of my life (which is certainly still a struggle), it’s now also being able to survive it and come out a sane and happy person. Even if that means running away and surrounding myself with joyful things. I’ve lived too many years on this planet to end the run with negative emotions and watching humanity try to kill itself. I will stay focused on the happy and shiny orb that is somewhere out there.

I pledge to you that I will continue to create positive content that is open-ended and forward-looking. I will continue to love and respect all of humanity and this planet. I will continue to grow forward and accept positive change and choices. And I will share each and every moment with you.
