So for the past 36 hours I have either been fitfully sleeping, or sitting on the toilet. Mostly the latter. I’ll spare you the details, but honestly, how much water is in the human body?
It started the other night at 2am. Cramps, the aforementioned diarrhea, the sweats, the extreme chills, the lather rinse and repeat. Twas miserable. Yesterday the box of Imodium finally kicked in and I basically slept all day and all night. Ish.
Was it food or water poisoning? I doubt it. That night I ate only what I cooked. Plus Nikki was fine. And the only liquid I had was a beer. Go figure. No tap water (which is supposed to be safe here in Istanbul, by the way). I think it was simply a stomach bug of some kind. Where I got it, I have no idea.
It’s 11am as I type this and I’m pondering if I should resume life here in Turkey or give myself another day of rest. The only problem is that our “apartment/hotel room” isn’t all that comfortable. And I’m feeling closed in. I do need to catch up on comments and work on some details of the next video, so perhaps I’ll try that for a few hours and then venture out.
Here’s a fun fact for ya … I’m a completely shitty patient. LOL! It drives Nikki crazy. I basically just want to be left alone while I recover and she is the mothering type. I feel like I know my own body and just want to listen to it and get better as quickly as possible with the least amount of misery. I suppose I just don’t have the “I’ll be kind and let someone take care of me” gene when I feel like crap. Not that I’m rude, it’s just that I want to be left to be quiet.
So yea, I lost boyfriend points yesterday. 🙂
So there ya go. The joys of travel. On the good news side, our toilet has a built-in bidet so I got to be all European during this unfortunate episode. And yea, I’ll spare you the details of that as well. LOL!
