Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a YouTuber?  You start with an idea which quickly becomes a script.  But this isn’t a script to be read verbatim on camera.  Oh no, it’s … fluid.  It’s a first, second, and tenth draft and only becomes final when I later glance at the words and wing my own unique version on the fly.

Which usually requires multiple takes.  LOL!

This script is for an upcoming video.  The title will probably change and the thumbnail tweaked.  The basic feel for the storylines will get adjusted.  But what will come out will be … I have no idea yet.  That’s the best part for me, just being in the moment and telling the story in my own words (regardless of what I previously wrote).

Feel free to compare and contrast when this one gets released so you can see the evolution.  🙂

  • Hook/Intro

    • Last year I lived in 23 separate places.

    • Yea, I know!

    • Some were fantastic!  Some … not so much.

    • So let’s take a little stroll through all of the videos and all of the experiences and let’s rank those 10 countries in order.

    • Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Spain, Andorra, Belgium, Ireland, UK, Iceland, and the USA!

    • Can you guess which one was number one?  And most importantly … why?

  • 6th place.  With the exception of the US (because I would honestly rather be just about anywhere else) is IRELAND.  Explain prices, the feeling of drunken no hope.

    • IRELAND!  Yea, I know.  Why would I put Ireland at the bottom of the list?  It’s beautiful, the people are incredibly friendly.  Well, it’s also expensive as hell.  And I didn’t feel at all relaxed and comfortable there.  Which was kinda the point.  Not feeling comfortable, I mean.

    • Clips about prices.  Scenes from Giants.

  • 10th through 7th place.  OK ok.  “WHAT HAPPENED to 10-7″ you ask?  Well, I’m going to just skip right over 10th through 7th place.  Why?  Because frankly they either had little to offer or I wasn’t there long enough to get a feel.  Or to be completely truthful about it, I don’t have any footage.  LOL!

  • So Andorra, Belgium, UK, and the USA.  All tied for the bottom.  All were ok but, you know your mileage may vary.  Moving on.

  • 5th.  Iceland, and honestly being in 5th only means there were better places I visited, not that Iceland was worse.  Sure, cold and expensive.  But oh so beautiful.

  • 4th.  Mexico.  And specifically the Yucatan.  This grew on me slowly.  But the pride, food, and natural beauty.  And the oh so friendly people.  Merida … and yes I’m learning to pronounce the name correctly people! … was the hardest for me personally.  I wanted to hustle and go go go!  You really can’t there.  It’s the anti-hustle.  And I was having none of that.  Looking back …

  • 3rd.  Panama, which really caused me the biggest surprise.  The casual way of life.  Potholes.  Beauty.  Potholes.  It’s a hard place and not always the most welcoming, but it’s a place where you can see yourself living.

  • 2nd.  Spain, strangely.  You’d think it would be my number one, but no!  We actually spent three months there, so I could do a whole video on that country alone.  (Hmmm, maybe …)

  • 1st.  Costa Rica.  But to be extremely specific … Puerto Viejo.
